Château de Montcaud is located in Sabran, in the Provence region, north of the Gard department. This historic castle is surrounded by 5 hectares of gardens and woodland, providing a peaceful and enchanting setting for 5-star accommodation.
Built in 1848, this private residence of a silk manufacturer named Collain was purchased by a Swiss family. It was later converted into a luxury hotel in the 1990s, and after a complete renovation in 2018, the hotel reopened its doors.
Hosting
Château de Montcaud offers 27 rooms and two suites, each decorated with a silk painting, a vibrant monochrome. Decorated with contemporary furnishings, the hotel is equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and Wi-Fi, while maintaining a French elegance. Its rooms offer breathtaking views of the shaded park, inviting long walks immersed in nature.
Gastronomy
The castle houses two remarkable restaurants:
Le Cèdre de Montcaud: A gourmet restaurant, awarded one Michelin star since 1, led by young chef Matthieu Hervé, who offers modern and inventive cuisine showcasing local produce. The presentation of the dishes is floral and poetic, with color and freshness.
Le Bistro de Montcaud: A bistro offering traditional French cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The generous gourmet menu can be enjoyed on the terrace, weather permitting, for an al fresco Provençal dining experience.
The hotel has a heated outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and pétanque courts, and two seminar rooms for professional or private events.
Activities and Leisure
During their stay, guests can enjoy hiking, and bicycles are also available for rent for rides in the surrounding area.
To relax or stay active, yoga classes or swimming are always available. In addition, the castle's location provides easy access to the region's historical and cultural sites, such as Avignon and Nîmes, or even the Sautadet waterfalls.
The Château de Montcaud is a destination that offers authentic and intimate luxury, for a stay in unspoiled nature in complete serenity, with excellent services and pleasant sporting or cultural excursions.
