On the peaceful bay of Plonévez-Porzay, a stone's throw from Douarnenez and facing the Atlantic Ocean, theHotel de la Plage embodies the essence of discreet luxury, nestled between sea spray, wild beaches, and the Breton coast. This confidential four-star address, run by the same family for nearly a century, combines authentic charm, local gastronomy, and tailor-made well-being. A timeless interlude for travelers seeking relaxation and well-being.
A family home rooted in Breton tradition
Since 1924, this granite building, anchored in the Finistère landscape, has lived to the rhythm of the tides. Today, Charlotte (the great-granddaughter) and Yoann Noël (her husband), the fourth generation to watch over this heartfelt house, have managed to preserve the spirit of a family pension while instilling contemporary refinement.
Carefully renovated, the hotel has twenty bright rooms, most of them facing the ocean, with the silvery reflections of the sea as their horizon. Light wood, soothing hues, natural materials and artisanal touches create a cozy, warm and soothing atmosphere. Here, luxury lies in the precision of the details, the attentive service, the authenticity of the experience.
A gourmet table between land and sea
Trained at Michel Guerard and passed through the kitchens of the Fouquet's, Yoann Noël infuses his cuisine with a free and salty energy. A lover of local products, he magnifies the treasures of the bay: wild sea bass, blue lobster, langoustines, Saint-Jacques caught a few miles away, all enhanced with powerful juices and rich sauces.
On land, the Breton anchorage continues with the black pig salt meadow lamb Plougastel strawberries or organic vegetables grown locally by neighboring market gardeners. In fine weather, the terrace becomes a bistro scene with seafood grills, sharing platters, and lunches with your feet in the sand. The spirit is generous, the plate full of emotion.
A new generation spa by Algologie
Since summer 2024, the new spa by Algologie completes the wellness offering with a holistic vision rooted in Breton nature. Built like a sanctuary of light wood open to the outside, the space shelters sauna, hammam, whirlpool, treatment room and plunge pool.
The protocols combine ancestral gestures and natural active ingredients from the island of Bréhat, such as regenerating algae or ultra-concentrated marine waters. Special mention for the treatments “La Vague" or "Chervil”, produced by Annaelle, a designated therapist, who draws on the Japanese kobido, Hawaiian lomi-lomi and Javanese techniques for deep relaxation. Formulas “Wellness” including accommodation, treatments and free access to the spa are offered for a regenerating getaway à la carte.

Activities and nature: the call of the open sea
Located on a 2,5 km wild beach, the hotel offers direct access to the pleasures of the ocean and coastal paths. The legendary GR34 passes at the foot of the establishment, ideal for long hikes by the sea or to reach the panoramas of Douarnenez. Mountain bikes are available, just like the material for the yachting, a true local signature.
Sainte-Anne-la-Palud beach (5 min walk)
Just a stone's throw from the hotel, this large, fine-sand beach is one of Finistère's jewels. Wild and peaceful, it stretches for several kilometers and offers a perfect setting for walking, relaxing, or sand yachting. It's also a historic pilgrimage site with its chapel and annual Grand Pardonne in August.

Accessible after a 15-minute walk, this windswept rocky promontory plunges into the ocean opposite the island of Sein and the legendary Vieille lighthouse. A walk along a coastal path that winds through wild, thorny moorland, resembling the end of the world, to reach the rocky point, the geographical extremity of France...
Landévennec Abbey (30 min by car)
Nestled at the end of Brest harbor, this abbey, founded in the 5th century, is a place steeped in spirituality and history. The archaeological site and terraced garden offer superb views of the Aulne estuary.
