Located on the island of Grande-Terre in Sainte-Anne, THE TOUBANA is the only 5-star hotel in Guadeloupe. Its history is family-run, created by Mr. Arnoux 3 generations ago, today she is his granddaughter Chloe Arnoux who is the mistress of the house, and this is felt in each of the attentions.
From your first steps, you are dazzled by its breathtaking view of the ocean and the island of Marie Galante, and you will see, while enjoying the perfectly measured welcome drink (with or without alcohol), its private beach which already attracts you...
Its main house, typically Creole, is a truly cozy, airy living room, ideal for tasting a local rum or listening to a visiting pianist. Its juxtaposed swimming pool overflows onto the ocean to form a single unit. Its 33 bungalows, some of which are called Ti Kaz (“traditional house” in Creole) with a private swimming pool, are truly intimate little havens naturally integrated into the lush tropical vegetation. We love bungalow 10, where the endless horizon and its terrace suspended on the cliff give us the impression of being alone in the world. More recently, 12 family suites have been added to accommodate families, as well as 3 real villas ranging from 400 to 630 m2 and benefiting from very high-end tailor-made services (private chef, masseur, etc.).
After enjoying a front-row seat to the sunrise, breakfast at LA TOUBANA is so varied it's hard not to try everything. The chef prepares everything from your favorite omelet to pancakes topped with Guadeloupean honey or local jam. Beware of the tropical birds that would love to invite themselves to your table and will do anything to distract you.
Hidden beneath the main house, with its own separate terrace and whirlpool, LA TOUBANA's spa has recently been revamped to welcome the high-end cosmetics brand SISLEY, renowned for its plant-based treatments and exclusive treatment protocols, as well as its highly developed makeup and hair product lines. Chloé Arnoux fell in love with this brand a few years ago, also family-owned and French, and wanted to become their 23rd address in the World, which became a reality in December 2024. LA TOUBANA's spa rituals combine the unique expertise of SISLEY phytocosmetology with Guadeloupean wellness traditions. Before your treatment, release your tension in the sauna and hammam, and relax immediately afterward in the relaxation room, facing this endless view while enjoying a detox tea.
Then head a few meters further down to the private beach of TOUBANA. From the moment you arrive at the hotel until your departure (even late after your check-out), a “bed” is reserved for you. Here, disconnection is total; white sand, turquoise water, attentive service… The beach bar and restaurant are open until sunset, the hardest part will be choosing the ideal cocktail to accompany this idyllic moment. The menu is complete, served directly on the beach or in the restaurant open until sunset.
At lunchtime or in the evening, the path to Le Grand Bleu restaurant takes you past the lobster tank. This morning's fishing seems to have been fruitful, with around fifty specimens gathered there. Guillaume Roquin, the restaurant's chef, learned his trade in Paris alongside renowned chefs such as Guy Martin, Guy Savoy, and Christian Constant, before traveling the world. Here, he combines his international influences with local flavors; the dishes are gourmet, modern, and refined, accompanied by a select wine cellar. As a starter, we were impressed by the lobster ravioli with peanuts. Next, the Caribbean sea bass in a salt crust was presented and sliced in front of you to be shared between two. To finish, a mille-feuille of caramelized bananas and peanuts and a soufflé flambéed with aged rum and local orange, with chocolate sauce, brought the meal to a sweet end.
