Baumanière, an Eden in the Alpilles

Baumanière, an Eden in the Alpilles

The 5-star hotel Baumaniere was founded in 1945 by Jean-André Charial, talented chef and owner, patriarch of the place, still active at 80 years old.

Around an old farmhouse, this passionate chef-entrepreneur patiently expanded his estate by investing all his earnings in new buildings to make Baumanière a starred establishment (five stars), sparkling in a green setting, in Baux de Provence, in the Alpilles region.

This estate is today a heavenly Eden for a relaxing stay, whether for family or couples, and for enjoying Provençal nature.

The hotel and spa:

Baumanière offers rooms and suites in a refined and functional style, blending southern charm and modernity. These rooms are spread across several buildings surrounded by lush gardens. Gardens that invite leisurely strolls, along large hedges of oleander and star jasmine, to discover a fountain where koi carp swim, and a pond where swans and ducks splash. These welcoming and comfortable rooms offer a unique ambiance, with breathtaking views of the Alpilles and its rocks, and shaded, flowery gardens.

At lunchtime, the bistronomic table  The Golden Goat  offers a menu of land and sea dishes with southern flavors, to be enjoyed in the shade of white mulberry trees. The viewpoint overlooks a flower garden and the famous Baux rock.

But the highlight of the place remains the restaurant Oustau de Baumaniere, a table three Michelin stars where the chief reigns Glenn Viel, a celebrity in the world of gastronomy. Original and talented, with his refined and extremely creative cuisine, he emphasizes local and seasonal products. His menus are gastronomic journeys, treasure hunts, and playful puzzles, designed to awaken and amaze the taste buds. A talented communicator, the chef devotes himself entirely to French cuisine. He shares his love and passion for the culinary art through numerous guides and culinary reviews, while constantly revisiting and inventing new dishes.

Spa and wellness treatments:
The Baumanière Spa offers a range of personalized treatments and massages, as well as an extensive selection of Sisley cosmetic products. This wellness retreat also features an indoor pool, a hammam, a fitness room, and a relaxation area overlooking a bright and peaceful garden.

Visits:

Guests can enjoy a variety of activities offered by the estate, such as cooking classes, wine tastings, or chocolate tastings at the Baumanière chocolate factory. Or, they can explore the surrounding area with hikes and sightseeing tours, such as the Carrières de Lumières, the 13th-century Château built on the rocky outcrop of Les Baux, and the many picturesque villages of Provence, starting with Les Baux, one of the most beautiful villages in France. The Alpilles massif, with its white limestone rock landscape, is also an exceptional natural setting to visit, with panoramic views of scrubland, olive groves, and vineyards.

If you are passing through Provence, don't hesitate to stop at the estate Baumaniere, to Leases of Provence, to discover an authentic and friendly place where the sweetness of French life reigns, gastronomy and the history of a place that has become legendary, making each stay a memorable experience in the heart of the Alpilles.

Thanks to DS for making the DS7 E-TENSE 4X4 300 for our reports in Provence: Good road holding, comfort and elegance.
