As part of the French Open tennis tournament at Roland-Garros, the watchmaker Ulysse Nardin hosted a media event to share a moment of discussion with its ambassador, Elina Svitolina, a 23-year-old Ukrainian player ranked 4th in the WTA rankings.
The meeting was held at the Paris Country Club Le Manoir, near the Saint-Cloud golf course and racecourse. The tennis player explained that she has been wearing Ulysse Nardin watches for nearly two years, including the Classico Jade model in steel with a blue alligator strap, which she only wears during competitions.
This self-winding mechanical women's watch, adorned with mother-of-pearl and diamonds, was unveiled last January in Geneva at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).
"I think every top athlete has a watchmaker in their heart," explains Elina Svitolina. "Self-control, perfect mastery of time, and a love of perfection. On a tennis court or in the world of fine watchmaking, it's always about precision and mastery, the beauty of the gesture and performance."
