Gymnastics runs in his family. Benjamin began practicing the sport at the age of three, when his parents ran the Munsterienne club in Alsace.
Although he was the 2023 French All-Around Champion (all apparatus), he specializes in floor and pommel horse. He is a multiple European and world finalist, finishing 4th in the world on floor, as well as 4th on pommel horse and 5th on floor at the European Championships.
For him, gymnastics represents self-improvement, rigor and achieving perfection of movements.
Preparing for a major sporting event
For Benjamin, preparing for a major event requires both physical and mental preparation. It's important to maintain a healthy diet, get enough sleep, and maintain proper physical conditioning. He's fortunate to have a well-organized team around him: a physiotherapist, a fitness coach, trainers, etc.
Gymnastics requires a fairly intense and regular level of training to perfect each movement. He therefore trains twice a day: workshops on mastering the basics in the morning, followed by specific work on the movement, and rehearsals in the afternoon to perfect his technique.
His advice for getting started in artistic gymnastics:
"You have to be well surrounded, have dreams, always'hang on, and above all don't give up even if the road may be long and perilous."
His post-career?
"I will look at the opportunities that come my way. I am passionate about sports coaching, itThis is something that I might like to do later, helping people achieve their goals. And why not integrate the Cirque du Soleil, very popular with high-level athletes from acrobatic sports."
