Axelle Etienne, BMX champion

Axelle Etienne is a French specialist in BMXBorn on March 26, 1998 in Bondy, a precocious talent, Axelle won everything in the youth categories before achieving a very promising podium at the Elite world championship.

Her love for cycling began at the age of 8. Axelle quickly showed great potential in the discipline, winning world championships in all age categories. She then joined the elite of French BMX at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines site.

A BMX Race specialist, she excels at starts and over bumps. A "rider" with character, her discipline and ability to manage races make her one of the most seasoned BMX riders on the circuit. Her notable successes on the national and international stages have propelled her to the rank of French No. 1. Although she was sometimes challenged by shoulder injuries, her tenacity and perseverance have always brought her back to the front of the tracks where she regularly achieves top rankings.


Outside of her athletic career, Axelle Étienne is also a vocal advocate for gender equality in cycling and the promotion of women's sport. She actively advocates for greater visibility and support for women in her discipline.

With the Olympic Games just one year away, Axelle continues her training diligently. Her inspiring journey and dedication to women's cycling have made her a respected and admired figure in women's sport.

We had the pleasure of speaking with her about her values ​​and ambitions. For her, sport is above all a question of fighting spirit. It allows you to surpass yourself in order to find victory through effort and perseverance. Her international experience has also allowed her to develop a love for travel, from which she has been able to draw all kinds of lessons.

Preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games

While awaiting her qualification, Axelle shares her approach to preparing for this legendary event. Training at the Olympic venue in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, she's already established some psychological benchmarks.

To conclude on the question of post-career, we discover that Axelle is pursuing studies in physiotherapy alongside her sport. She practices both theory and practice. She then hopes to be able to practice this profession full-time, perhaps alongside high-level athletes like herself.
