In the heart of the 8thrd district of the capital, the Hotel Bowmann*****, emblem of 21st century Paris, welcomes you and offers you a moment of well-being by escaping for the time of a treatment in its new spa, TERRAKE.
Once you step through the front door of 99 Boulevard Haussmann, whether you're a hotel guest or have an appointment at the salon, the welcome you receive is very pleasant. Smiles, respect, kindness. We're made to wait while one of the beauty experts takes you in hand and guides you throughout the entire experience. Because this is truly an experience, a multisensory experience that engages all five senses.
Terrake recently moved into the Bowmann Hotel*****. Its original name Earths (Terra in Greek) and Ke (meaning water), that is to say “made of earth and water”, the Terrake spa takes you on a journey of discovery of well-being and your inner self, awakening all your senses.
Four body and care universes are offered:
First Waters : A true deep sculpting and detoxifying treatment, this protocol reshapes the silhouette thanks to its refining and draining movements
Terra Magica : Relaxing treatment that works on tension and muscle knots for a renewed sense of well-being. The body is soothed and relaxed.
Lush Plants : An exfoliating treatment to detoxify, cleanse and regenerate the skin in depth.
Of Air and Light : Relaxing and pampering treatment to offer total relaxation by eliminating all forms of stress.
For each of them, the SPA Terrake awakens our five senses through a subtle blend:
The interior decoration of the spa for the view, warm and soothing. But also the colored light of the showers which varies during the "treatment" and sometimes generates surprise for the clients. A red light and cold water will disturb the senses and re-energize us.
The sense of smell will be represented by candles designed for each universe. They take us back to travel and exoticism.
The massages, gentle or invigorating, adapted to the different programs offered correspond to the sense that has the most "meaning" in the institute: touch. As for hearing, it is of course the music, also variable according to the chosen treatments, that transports us to another universe...
Finally, the taste, which the black tea offered at the end of the session will reveal and close this inter-sensory journey.
Three treatment rooms welcome guests: two for individuals, and a third for couples.
The spa also offers access to the gym or swimming pool (usually reserved for hotel guests) for an additional fee.
Before relaxing, a changing room with bathrobes and slippers awaits. Personal and valuable items can be stored in a "locker" locked with a secret code.
The chosen program having been defined upon arrival, after completing a questionnaire determining our needs, choices, and restrictions and discussing with the beautician, the 60-minute treatment can begin. The cabin is warm. We are left alone, the time to remove slippers and bathrobe and, if necessary, place our cell phone or other items in a small box placed nearby. We lie down under a towel. A feeling of warmth invades the entire body. Indeed, the bed participates in the program by relaxing the muscles with its heat. Victoria, our beauty expert, enters the cabin. Politeness, courtesy, elegance, and discretion are the qualifiers of our "care." Changes in position (on the back, on the stomach) are always carried out in the strictest privacy, behind a huge towel lifted by Victoria, which hides the body of each client.
His expert hands provide relaxation, well-being and regeneration of body and mind!
A continuous, uninterrupted machine sensation that massages, relaxes and removes all tension... The work of the hands is complemented by that of the forearms and elbows, and will be more or less toned depending on the program.
Then, Victoria takes out a boar bristle brush and uses it along her arms and legs. Dead skin is sloughed off, and a feeling of lightness invades us.
She will offer the brush at the end of the session. It is a gift to all clients.
Three signature treatments have been created by the brand:
Swedish massage, deep and energetic, provides intense muscle relaxation. It's ideal for total relaxation.
Prenatal massage, designed for pregnant women, relieves muscle tension associated with pregnancy and promotes moments of sharing and connection between mother and baby.
The Sensory Ritual, a sensory journey that immerses you in a bubble of well-being and serenity. The signature sensory treatment begins with a hammam to release all body tension and prepares the skin for a real boost of radiance: the scrub. An invigorating scrub that deeply detoxifies the skin. It is followed by an affusion shower that combines light therapy for a soothing, relaxing, and serene moment. To complete this treatment, a full-body warm oil massage is offered to complete the relaxation. The signature treatment is ideal for reviving vital energy.
Expect to pay €170 to €250 for body treatments depending on the length of the treatment (60 or 90 minutes); €130 to €180 for facial treatments, and €20 to €130 for manicures and/or pedicures.
We leave the TERRAKE spa feeling rested, calm, and relaxed. Like a journey to Asia, or simply within ourselves. A kind of inner meditation that reveals our well-being.
