Silk in Lyon, 4th edition, at the Palais de la Bourse in Lyon from November 17 to 20, 2022

The "Silk in Lyon, Silk Festival" trade show returns to the majestic Palais de la Bourse from November 17 to 20, 2022, for an edition packed with new features. Following the growing success of recent editions, Europe's largest silk event is paying tribute this year to the Italian city of Como.

Como, an Italian city in the spotlight

After Japan and China, we return to Europe with the Italian city of Como. Como has a long history, traditions, and a vibrant economy, and is closely associated with the "City of Light." With its ancestral expertise in the world of silk, Como is a major European silk center.

« History of the tie, the backbone of man ", the exhibition

For his 4e edition, the Silk Museum of Como presents an exhibition highlighting one of the most emblematic products of its know-how… the tie. Until the end of the 20the century, 80% of European production came from the silk district of Como. Ties have evolved over time and taken on different meanings. From a selection of ties Made in Come, all stages of manufacturing are presented... from bare ties to the most original variations, thanks to the use of sometimes surprising materials like wood. Whether printed, plain, thin or in excessive sizes, they remain a magnificent vector of expression.

An edition that promises to be rich in new features

This year, some thirty exhibitors, including traditional brands, big names, and young designers, will be offering a wide selection of silk fabrics and accessories. Among these innovations, Benu Blanc brings a new range of beauty linen and the new entrant Cerra Cosmetics presents a range of organic beauty treatments based on silk powder.

Other artisans will also participate in the event by presenting their creations made from this precious fabric: Genius iD, the brand that recycles silk ties and transforms them into jewelry; Anahide Saint André, the high-end women's ready-to-wear house produces sustainable silk clothing inspired by Japan or Agnes Hardi and its collections and luxury scarves made from his original works.

In line with current trends, visitors can participate and take on the role of a stylist by taking part in creative workshops. do it yourself » introducing vegetable dyeing and modeling workshops. More than ten international conferences, artistic performances and guided tours are also on the program to discover or rediscover a profession that honors craftsmanship, while learning to reinvent oneself and live in the spirit of the times.

A diverse and creative industry with a future... silk
