Royal Botania indulges in finesse

Royal Botania is launching its new 2022 outdoor lounge collection, with its signature focus on the smallest details and delivering on the brand's promise of "Indulge in finesse."

Royal Botania, a family business, was founded in the early 90s. The company handles its entire production process, from prototypes to delivery to customers and retailers. The outdoor furniture is certified high-quality and fully traceable.

For this year 2022, Royal Botania has some surprises in store for us with the launch of new elegant, contemporary and chic.

First of all the mind LOUNGE with deep, modular sofas, welcoming ever more friends throughout the years and transforming a terrace into a truly new room... a lifestyle, daybeds to enjoy the art of relaxation. We find here the spirit of the collections designed by Kris Van Puyvelde.

Contemporary lines, a generous teak (or aluminum) base for a wide seat, the collection MOZAIX leaves a ceramic projection as a book rest or for a cup... we can imagine this living room inside as well as outside.

All at ZEHNIT, the lightness of this set is felt by the elegance of the teak with the delicate play of hollow armrests.

As indicated by his name, STYLETTO has tapered legs in a black aluminum structure... highlighting the contemporary and soft lines of the whole.

Modernity at its peak, NINIX reveals an aluminum structure giving it a very simple silhouette, reflecting urban outdoor architecture... a flirtation with the sky!

About Royal Botania indulge in finesse

The company was born from a friendship between Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman, who met at the University of Antwerp during their engineering studies. They started in 1992 by importing teak furniture from Indonesia… a first venture that ended in failure due to the poor quality of the design and manufacturing of imported products. This was all they needed to learn salutary lessons and determine the DNA of Royal Botania… perfect design and flawless quality for all outdoor furniture suitable for all gardens.

The designers, who initially designed furniture for teak production, quickly realized that the fledgling Royal Botonia brand could adapt to new materials—stainless steel, aluminum, and synthetic fibers—and launched collections of furniture and outdoor lighting lines. This unique offering quickly established Royal Botania's image and international reputation among private individuals, architects, and interior designers working on hotel projects.

Thirty years later, 800 people worldwide work for Royal Botania, including 50 at the headquarters near Antwerp in Belgium, where the new showroom presenting the entire production has just opened. In addition to the design of the collections, Royal Botania takes care of all the production in its factory in Thailand, the commercialization, marketing, warehousing, distribution, logistics and after-sales service.

Royal Botania has another eco-responsible awareness beautiful, because to be an international reference, it is necessary to assert its environmental responsibility… the materials used are becoming scarce. It is a fact, the company is a large user of teak but its development policy is done with CSR (corporate and environmental responsibility). Since 2010, it has owned a 200 hectare teak plantation (250 teak trees) labeled Green Forest Plantation Co… giving back to the Earth what we take from it. Royal Botania only uses Teak from Burma, manufacturing takes place in its factory in a village in Thailand where reception facilities were created (free meals and accommodation, medical care, sports activities, childcare, etc.) for the families of the 000 employees.

Royal Botania is carrying out an uncompromising selection of materials. Indeed, the company controls the environmental and societal impact of its manufacturing process. The teak used is carefully matured in Burma, in strict compliance with the "sustainable forest" policy established by the WWF, and the synthetic materials are all 100% recyclable.

Royal botany never deviates from the quality who is its reason for being. Products sold worldwide must be resistant to the heat of the Dubai desert, Canadian winters, and UV rays under the Australian summer sun. The company submits to weather constraints that require attention to detail, which is at the heart of its Research & Development policy.

Kris Van Puyvelde is, at the same time designer and managerHe creates most of the Royal Botania collections and speaks about them thus: “ For almost 30 years, I have been designing most of the models in the Royal Botania collection: the brand's DNA has become a bit like mine and vice versa! Perhaps this is why our customers recognize our models so easily. It's a certain je ne sais quoi that draws a common thread between all of Royal Botania's creations. Each time I start with a blank page, but I still have to find a quiet moment to draw. Perhaps this is why most of the collections were designed at an altitude of over 30 feet, during long-haul flights between Brussels and our Thai factory. In the air, I can concentrate on the line, trying to do something other than what already exists. And when I arrive in Thailand, I can immediately put my sketch to the test of the prototype. The coherence of the creations between them seems more interesting to me than uniformity, everyone can thus mix this or that piece of furniture according to their desires, but the whole always remains coherent thanks to this common thread which follows my drawings. And my greatest satisfaction is indeed to see my products all over the world. On the terraces of pretty villas, in reports of luxury magazines, on the decks of large yachts when I walk in the ports, in boutique hotels… It’s a bit like a father happy to see his children again ».
