Maison Courvoisier in Jarnac, the historic site renovated in collaboration with iconic designers Gilles & Boissier

Maison Courvoisier has just announced that its iconic Jarnac location will undergo a major renovation under the direction of iconic design studio Gilles & Boissier, a restoration that will pay homage to the two-hundred-year history of Courvoisier as established in the family home of Félix Courvoisier.

Maison Courvoisier, founded by Félix Courvoisier in 1828, is the world's most awarded cognac brand*, whose design philosophy is built around artisanal techniques to celebrate the joys of everyday life. Located overlooking the Charente River in the heart of the Cognac region, Maison Courvoisier houses the brand's distillery, century-old cellars that house an extraordinary collection of eaux-de-vie, and exhibition spaces dedicated to Courvoisier's unique and fabulous history. In 2024, some 200 years after its founding, Maison Courvoisier will present a new face that embodies more than ever the spirit and refinement of the brand, highlighting its inseparable heritage in the history of France.

« When Patrick and I were asked to restore and bring back to light the historic house of Félix Courvoisier, we absolutely couldn't say no, even if our son's name was Félix! said Dorothée Boissier, co-founder and president of Gilles & Boissier. The House of Courvoisier and French history are inseparable, we are delighted to honor the past while celebrating the present with a timeless approach to design, and to embrace the future of the world's most awarded Cognac House* that celebrates joie de vivre and natural sophistication. »

Gilles & Boissier Design Studio was selected by Courvoisier to restore the entire historic château, the former family home of Félix Courvoisier. Currently the iconic studio's largest project in France, marking its first collaboration with a spirits producer, this extraordinary restoration will encompass the entirety of Félix Courvoisier's home, including four reception rooms, a tasting room, and six bedrooms.

One of France's most iconic spirits brands, Courvoisier presents a comprehensive collection reflecting the many ways to enjoy cognac in the House's signature floral style, including VS, VSOP, XO, Extra, and the ultimate expression of the brand, L'Essence de Courvoisier. The House of Courvoisier has long-standing relationships with the region's artisans and winemakers, producing a range of exceptional cognacs. Courvoisier is part of Beam Suntory, the world's leading premium spirits company*.

« We are delighted to be working with Gilles & Boissier, the world's most talented and renowned design duo, whose French style will not only inspire us, but bring a real sense of authenticity to the restoration of Maison Courvoisier., said Courvoisier CEO Richard Costa-Savelli. The history of Maison Courvoisier is rooted in our community and the global cognac industry, and we look forward to introducing the world to a new interior design that is both contemporary and timeless, a nod to the era when Félix Courvoisier and his family occupied the salons. »
