Approaching Maison & Objet, the major international luxury design event (September 4–9), and Paris Design Week, I had the privilege of meeting Joanne Stone, founder of Joanne Stone DesignsA solar woman, artist and mystic at the same time, who transforms crystals into true works of art inhabited by spirit and light.
A life between continents, a universal art
Born in Peru, raised in Miami, now rooted in Mallorca, Joanne is a soul traveler. Her universe is populated by crystals, which she considers not as decorative objects, but as living beings, bearers of the memory of the Earth and the cosmos.
« "I see myself as a guardian of the stones," she says. "My role is to share their light so that everyone can rediscover their strength, their gifts, and their essence." »
Her creations range from intimate jewelry, real personal talismans, with monumental installations who transform entire spaces into temples of light. One of her most notable collaborations? A series of frescoes for the Auberge Resort Spa in Playa del Carmen, inspired by Mayan cosmology.
An international career, a Mediterranean anchorage
In Miami, her first studio quickly became a secret address where visionary women came to find vibrant, evolving pieces capable of supporting their personal transformation. Through word of mouth, her name crossed oceans. Today, her creations circulate freely between New York, London, Paris, Mexico and soon Dubai.
But it was in Mallorca that Joanne found her center. The island is made of stone, like my name. Between the mountains and the Mediterranean, I feel a peace I have never known. »
