For more than a decade, DJI has redefined our relationship with imagery, whether through its iconic drones or its ultra-stabilized action cameras. Today, the Chinese brand is tackling a relatively young but booming field: that of 360° cameras. With theOsmo 360, DJI makes a remarkable entrance, setting the technological bar at a new level, both for content creators and for image professionals.
A world first: 1-inch square HDR sensor dedicated to 360°
The Osmo 360's big innovation lies in its sensor 1 inch square HDR, an absolute first in the industry. Where the majority of 360 cameras have relied on smaller sensors until now, DJI has dared to integrate technology usually reserved for high-end devices. The result: a 25% optimized imaging area compared to traditional rectangular sensors, with a direct gain in brightness, detail and energy efficiency.
This ingenious approach reflects DJI's philosophy: not just to follow trends, but to redefine them through engineering.
360° goes to native 8K
Where many competitors still top out at 5,7K, DJI takes the Osmo 360 to another dimension with native 8K capture at 30 fps, And even 8K/50 fps for the most demanding. It's a revolution for creators of immersive content: more details, more fluidity, and an immersion that's ever closer to reality.
And because resolution alone is not enough, DJI has equipped its camera with 2,4 μm pixels, which is twice as large as the current industry standard. This results in better low-light handling, an impressive dynamic range of 13,5 stops, and an ability to film night scenes or backlighting with a striking result.

100 minutes of battery life in 8K: endurance above all
One of the recurring criticisms of high-end 360 cameras concerns battery life, which is often limited by the energy consumption of such video processing. DJI breaks this glass ceiling with 100 minutes of continuous recording in 8K/30 fps, a feat made possible by the optimization of the sensor and the energy efficiency of the housing. Add to that the battery extension bar which brings this autonomy to almost 3 hours, and you get a truly viable tool for extended filming, even in extreme environments (down to -20°C).
Features designed for creators
Beyond the technical specifications, DJI has enriched the Osmo 360 with an arsenal of creative features:
- Invisible selfie stick : the accessory automatically disappears from videos, providing an ultra-natural “virtual cameraman” rendering.
- Slow motion up to 4x et 4K/100 fps video, to capture the fastest action in full immersion.
- 360 MP 120° photos, allowing you to obtain impressively sharp fixed panoramas.
- Gesture and voice control, for easy hands-free use.
- Horizon Steady and Rock Steady 3.0 stabilization, ensuring smooth shots, whether the camera is attached to a helmet, a motorcycle or simply handheld.
- DJI Studio Smart Assembly et Premiere plugin for a professional and smooth workflow.
In short, DJI isn't just a "gadget camera": the Osmo 360 is aimed at both vloggers and professional videographers looking for a versatile and robust tool.
A dual identity: 360° camera and action cam
An interesting feature is that the Osmo 360 is not just a panoramic camera. single objective mode, it turns into a 5K/60 fps action cam with a 155° ultra wide angle. Activate the mode Boost Video and the angle increases to 170°, for even more immersive shots in 4K/120 fps.
This duality of use in fact a hybrid camera: perfect for filming in POV during a mountain trail, before instantly switching to 360° capture to immortalize the panorama from the summit.
DJI Design and Ecosystem: The Home Touch
With only 183 grams, the Osmo 360 impresses with its compactness, despite the integration of two 1-inch optical modules. The modular design with magnetic attachment is in line with the Osmo Action range, guaranteeing compatibility with many existing accessories.
DJI is also pushing the ecosystem further with OsmoAudio™, which allows you to directly connect two DJI microphones without a receiver. This transforms the camera into a real audiovisual production tool, without having to take up too much space.

A game changer for 360°
With the Osmo 360, DJI isn't just entering the immersive camera market. The company is redefining the standards and setting the bar high in terms of resolution, battery life, and versatility. Where many 360 cameras have remained niche, the Osmo 360 could well become the camera that democratizes 360°, both among passionate amateurs and in the hands of audiovisual professionals.
In other words: DJI has struck again.
