Carl Suchy & Söhne, an iconic watchmaking house founded in 1822, returns to the forefront with a creation at the crossroads of time and elegance: the watch Vienna, a watchmaking tribute to the Viennese soul.
More than a watch, it is an ode to the Austrian capital, to its modernist heritage and to the unique harmony that reigns there between tradition, art and innovation.

World premiere in Geneva
It is on the occasion of the show Time to Watches, on April 1, 2025 in Geneva, that the line of watches Vienna will make its grand entrance onto the international watchmaking scene. Carl Suchy & Söhne will present the first 50 numbered examples of this timepiece, available in three variations with evocative names: Day, Blue danube et Night.
The elegance of Viennese modernism
La Vienna draws its inspiration from the rigorous and poetic aesthetic of Viennese modernism. Its clean geometric lines recall the work of architects such as Adolf Loos and Josef Hoffmann. Designer Eric Giroud, who created the piece, says:
« It's very Adolf Loos, very Hoffmann. I really enjoyed immersing myself in this world again. What fascinated me was seeing a house with 200 years of history reborn with contemporary codes. »
The watch's design embodies the "art of reduction" so dear to modernism: each element has its place, without superfluous ornamentation. Lines, light, and contrast between surfaces create a subtle interplay on the dial, while the rotating seconds disc at 6 o'clock marks the passage of time with discreet elegance.
High-precision mechanics
At the heart of Vienna beats the CSS-V1 caliber, developed in collaboration with the Vaucher Fleurier manufacture. This ultra-thin automatic movement, adorned with the exclusive finish Vienna Coast, offers a 48-hour power reserve. A gold micro-rotor engraved with double griffins, visible on the case back, adds an imperial touch to this exceptional piece.
The 316 mm 39L stainless steel case, with its flowing lines, houses a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, ensuring perfect readability. The screw-down caseback bears an engraved serial number, a guarantee of exclusivity.
A discreet and refined tribute to the city
Beyond its technique, the Vienna speaks to emotion. Its genuine leather strap hides a pattern inspired by the colorful tiles of St. Stephen's Cathedral. This attention to detail demonstrates the brand's commitment to the soul of Vienna, right down to its sounds: the bells, the trams, the arias of the Opera...
" The Vienna follows this rhythm – its mechanical heart beats in unison with the soul of the city,” explains Robert Punkenhofer, CEO of Carl Suchy & Söhne.
Vienna: a moment of life captured
La Vienna is aimed at aesthetes who live in Vienna more than they visit it. It unites past and present in a watch that, with its finesse, expresses a vision of sober and profound luxury.
