With the new NODE° collection, the brand takes a decisive step in its history. A Swiss house born far from conventions
Founded in 2013 in the Broye Valley, at the foot of the Swiss Jura Mountains, Mauron Musy was born from the encounter between Eric Mauron et Christophe Musy, two specialists from the world of precision mechanics rather than traditional watchmaking. This atypical positioning largely explains the brand's DNA.
Where many manufacturers emphasize heritage, archives or historical complications, the brand was built around a purely technical question: how to guarantee perfect water resistance without using the rubber seals traditionally found in all mechanical watches?
This reflection led to the development of the patented nO-Ring® technology, a mechanical sealing system without any elastomer seals. An innovation that has become the absolute signature of the Swiss brand.
NODE°, a new generation for Mauron Musy
With NODE°, the Swiss manufacturer is not simply presenting a new watch. It is unveiling a synthesis of thirteen years of research, experimentation and aesthetic evolution.
The collection features a 41mm Grade 5 titanium case with smoother, more contemporary lines, while retaining the brand's iconic screw-down architecture. The overall effect is one of greater visual coherence and sophistication, with a more integrated and architectural silhouette.
But the real revolution lies within.
The MM03 caliber, the company's first in-house movement
NODE° unveils the Calibre MM03, the first in-house movement developed by Mauron Musy after more than ten years of development. This proprietary micro-rotor movement marks a major strategic turning point for the independent Swiss watchmaker.
Visible through a particularly architectural semi-open dial, the caliber reveals an almost industrial approach to contemporary haute horlogerie. The angular balance bridge at 9 o'clock visually structures the dial, while the 32 jewels mounted in chatons recall the great traditions of Swiss watchmaking.
The movement oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers an impressive four-day power reserve despite its extremely slim profile of only 5,5 mm thick. The tungsten micro-rotor on ball bearings contributes to this ongoing pursuit of mechanical efficiency and technical balance.
Each surface that can be finished by hand benefits from meticulous craftsmanship, perfectly illustrating the philosophy of the watchmaking manufacture: to combine contemporary micro-engineering and traditional Swiss finishes.
A luxury sports watch designed as an engineering marvel.
In a market dominated by sporty-chic watches with integrated straps, NODE° stands out with a much more technical than stylistic approach. Here, the design stems directly from the function.
The new integrated Grade 5 titanium bracelet was designed as a natural extension of the case, creating an almost sculptural continuity on the wrist. Satin-finished surfaces contrast with polished hexagonal details that subtly catch the light and accentuate the sculpted volumes.
This construction reinforces the monolithic character of the watch, while offering remarkable lightness thanks to Grade 5 titanium.
The 20 ATM water resistance, achieved thanks to the nO-Ring® system, remains one of the collection's most impressive technical features. In an industry where gaskets have been a universal standard for decades, Mauron Musy continues to embody an extremely rare form of horological dissent.
A highly confidential production
Going against the grain of major international watchmaking groups, MAURON MUSY deliberately limits its production to around 300 pieces per year. This deliberate scarcity contributes to its appeal to independent watch collectors.
The company also claims the “Swiss Crafted” label, going beyond the traditional “Swiss Made”, to certify that all development, design and manufacturing is carried out in Switzerland.
This philosophy appeals to a new generation of fine watchmaking enthusiasts: collectors seeking uniqueness, technical consistency and a less marketing-driven approach to luxury.
