Art and Watchmaking: An Ongoing Dialogue

Jaeger-LeCoultre's "Made of Makers" program is a celebration of creativity, expertise, and precision. By partnering with artists, designers, and artisans from diverse backgrounds, the Maison explores the symbiotic relationship between art and watchmaking. This collaboration showcases talents who share Jaeger-LeCoultre's values and who, through their work, explore new forms of artistic expression.

Brendi Wedinger: Digital Sculptor-Florist at Jaeger-LeCoultre

Brendi Wedinger, a multidisciplinary artist, uses digital technologies to create 3D works that oscillate between reality and fantasy. Inspired by nature and biodiversity, her creations blend the abstract with the sculptural. Adopting a craft-based approach, she first manually sculpts 3D elements before refining them with mathematical equations, creating textures, transparency, and layering.

The “1931 Golden Flowers”: A Surrealist Creation

As part of this collaboration, Brendi Wedinger visited the Vallée de Joux, immersing herself in nature and the watchmaking craftsmanship of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Inspired by this stay, she created a triptych of surreal flowers. Each flower combines elements of various species found in the Valley, reinterpreted to emphasize their surreal character. The polished gold chosen to materialize these flowers offers a hyperreal illusion of shadows and reflections, juxtaposing the cold, solid metal with the organic softness of the flowers.

Jaeger-LeCoultre's Winer Garden is a celebration of art, nature, and luxury watchmaking. The event at Place Vendôme and the collaboration with Brendi Wedinger perfectly illustrate this quest for excellence and innovation. It is an invitation to discover a world where art meets precision, and where each creation tells a unique story.
