Since its beginnings, JEM has created a modern jewelry, sustainable and committed, in Fairmined certified ethical gold. In 2018, the House made a bold choice by using lab-grown diamonds – synthetic diamonds – a new generation of diamonds that are completely environmentally friendly and fully traceable. In 2021, JEM is opening a new chapter in its history with mother-of-pearl and its jewel, the pearl.
The House is evolving the iconic collection Hugs, designed by the very creative Pauline Deltour, bringing color to the designs for the first time. This collection in half-part compositions, stands out for its mischievousness and ingenuity and delights with its obviousness. Each piece of jewelry Hugs, adorned with pearl and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, reveals new bright, intense and unique colors… deep blue and green, gold and bronze.
Sustainable cultivation
The pearl is a symbol of the beauty and magic of the oceans, an emblem of healthy ecosystems. Protecting marine biodiversity must be promoted through sustainable pearl farming to naturally regulate ocean waters.
JEM chooses pearl farms for the quality of their pearls and mother-of-pearl, and also for their commitment to preserving marine habitats.
The pearls of Fiji…Fiji is renowned for its pearl culture, which accounts for 0.1% of Oceania's production. With only 20 pearls produced annually, the jewels are coveted by connoisseurs worldwide for their unique and vibrant natural range of colors and their rarity. JEM works primarily with J. Hunter Pearls which is committed to responsible pearl cultivation and the protection of marine ecosystems.
The pearls of the Philippines…this country is also a benchmark in the world of jewelry, particularly for its golden pearls typical of the region. The local partner is Jeweler, very involved in environmental and social issues.
Stronger commitment
JEM is strongly committed to saving the oceans and protecting coral reefs. Each piece of jewelry purchased with a pearl or mother-of-pearl is accompanied by the adoption of a coral, cared for and transplanted by Coral Guardian. JEM wishes to support the association's action Coral Guardian and thus participate in the restoration of coral reefs. It is important to know that 40% of coral reefs and mangroves have disappeared in recent years, and yet corals are an invaluable resource for the conservation of the marine world... 25% of known marine biodiversity is found in coral reefs. They are the lungs of the oceans, essential in the fight against climate change, their conservation is a vital emergency. Since 2012, Coral Guardian restores the seabeds of Indonesia and more recently off the coast of Spain.
Collection Hugs pearl and mother-of-pearl
The creations and JEM jewelry are made in partner workshops in France. Thus the Solitaire set with a pearl in its center is available in variations of blue pearl on yellow or white gold, gold pearl on yellow gold and bronze pearl on rose gold. The mother-of-pearl in marquetry on half-parts Hugs is unveiled in two colors… blue mother-of-pearl with green highlights and white mother-of-pearl. The mother-of-pearl is cut and placed in Paris in the purest tradition of French jewelry expertise. collection Hugs can be discovered in the Maison JEM boutique, 10 rue d'Alger in the first arrondissement of Paris.
The JEM House
JEM Ethically Minded Jewelery, created in 2010, is the first French house of ethical and contemporary jewelry. The jewelry is simple and strong with clean lines, to embody a jewelry that questions, questions itself and commits… it is about creating jewelry with kindness, respecting progress and an ethical mission.
Traditional codes are being redesigned to give jewelry a new approach... modern, sustainable, enlightened, based on values of transparency, respect and awareness.

Fairmined gold
The “Fairmined” label guarantees artisanal and responsible mining operations, respecting very demanding ecological, human and social standards.
This is a legal and cooperative mining industry, respecting human rights and international labor standards... prohibiting child labor, exploitation, and discrimination. The criteria applied are those of fair trade and environmentally friendly production (no mercury, for example).
Cultured diamonds
Always seeking innovation, JEM launched its first collection set with cultured diamonds (also called synthetic or laboratory-grown diamonds) in 2018. A magic of nature and science, this diamond is created by human hand, under the same conditions as nature. Identical to mined diamonds, except obviously for its origin, it combines beauty and brilliance and guarantees true respect for humans and the planet. This is truly a diamond of the present, looking to the future.
French jewelry know-how
JEM jewelry are made in one of the most renowned jewelry workshops in the heart of the Vosges. A jeweler of excellence, the workshop advocates an innovative policy of sustainable development and offers the best of its expertise for the creation of new jewelry.
The pieces are handcrafted... a unique and irreplaceable skill passed down from master to student to create exceptional artisans. By drawing on their artisan expertise, JEM perpetuates today's artistic crafts, which are threatened by the outsourcing and widespread use of industrial processes.
