It is not simply innovating, but rethinking what a mechanical watch is.

The MP-10 Tourbillon Sapphire belongs to the prestigious collection Exceptional Timepiecesa veritable laboratory where Hublot engineers have total freedom to explore new mechanical territories. No concessions are made to tradition when it hinders innovation.
At first glance, the watch is surprising. There's no dial. No hands either. Even the oscillating weight, so essential on a classic automatic watch, is gone. And yet, everything works.
The movement itself becomes the face of the watch.
This spectacular architecture is fully visible thanks to a polished sapphire case, one of the most complex materials to machine in the watchmaking industry. Its transparency allows light to penetrate from all angles, transforming the caliber into a true mechanical sculpture. This choice is not merely aesthetic. It reflects Hublot's mastery of sapphire, an extremely hard material, fragile during machining, and requiring several hundred hours of work to achieve this perfect transparency.

Hublot's imagined solution is fascinating.
The hours and minutes are no longer indicated by hands but by two rotating cylinders located in the upper part of the watch. A virtually invisible magnifying lens instantly improves their legibility. In the center, a circular 48-hour power reserve indicator gradually changes from green to red as the energy level decreases. Finally, in the lower part, the seconds are displayed directly on the tourbillon cage.
Reading is done naturally from top to bottom, almost instinctively, as if this organization had always existed.
One of the most impressive innovations, however, remains invisible at first glance.
A traditional automatic watch uses a freely rotating oscillating weight to wind the mainspring. However, in the MP-10, this solution became incompatible with the vertical architecture of the movement.
Hublot engineers have therefore completely redesigned the automatic winding system.
Two linear white gold weights slide vertically on either side of the movement. Connected to a rack and pinion system, they ensure bidirectional winding while maintaining the overall balance. To absorb the shocks generated by their movement, a specific shock-absorbing system has been developed. This entirely new architecture is currently the subject of a patent application and perfectly illustrates Hublot's ability to rethink principles considered immutable for decades.
The tourbillon is yet another demonstration of Hublot's expertise.
Positioned at 35 degrésSuspended and crafted entirely from a single piece of aluminum, it simultaneously regulates the movement and displays the seconds. This unusual configuration enhances the mechanical presentation while offering a spectacular view of the escapement's operation. Here again, this architecture required the development of innovative technical solutions.
The outer casing also testifies to Hublot's level of exacting standards.
The case of 54,1 × 41,5 mm It features virtually no right angles. Its complex geometry embraces a three-dimensional sapphire crystal with multiple inclined planes, considered one of the most sophisticated ever produced by the manufacture. Even the transparent rubber strap extends this quest for visual coherence, giving the impression that the movement is literally floating on the wrist.
Produced at only 30 productsThe MP-10 Tourbillon Sapphire is clearly not aimed at collectors looking for a classic watch. It primarily represents a demonstration of what Hublot is capable of when industrial constraints disappear in favor of experimentation.
With this creation, the manufacture confirms that it doesn't simply want to produce luxury watches. It aspires to participate in the very evolution of watchmaking. Where others refine traditions, Hublot prefers to write new rules.
The MP-10 Tourbillon Sapphire is ultimately not a watch meant to look back on the past. It embodies a vision of the future where mechanics become architecture, where the movement replaces the dial, and where innovation is never a marketing ploy, but the starting point of every creation.
