Chopard continues with its limited series of exceptional watches and this time unveils the new LUC Perpetual Chrono, which combines the measurement of both long and short periods. This marvel, presented in all its nobility, dressed in platinum, will be distributed in just 20 editions. Following the launch in 2016 of the Fairmined series in fair trade gold in a limited edition, the watch brand continues with this L.UC Perpetual Chrono, made up of 452 components.
A noble and refined design
This new watch from Chopard is adorned with a beautiful and heavy 45 mm noble case in 950 platinum tinted in its own dark neutral gray. A vertical satin finish on the sides crowns the whole with a polished effect on the bezel and lugs. But this jewel has not stopped there because its dial has also been designed with an elegant and prestigious material, notably solid gold crisscrossed with a hand-guilloché pattern tinted in a deep blue after a galvanic treatment. Chopard has truly focused on high-end design for this exceptional timepiece. The crown and pushers have been designed with 18 ct white gold.
Even the LUC 03-L caliber, which was crafted in the company's workshops, is made of light gray nickel silver to ensure the caliber's resistance to oxidation. Chopard has put all its know-how and expertise into the design of this watch. Every detail has been meticulously cared for, and the smallest elements that can be distinguished on the movement prove the perfection of the execution, including the application of the Côtes de Genève, the circular graining, the satin-brushing, and the polishing. But Chopard has not limited itself solely to the aesthetic side, as precision is also the strong point of this caliber. Built around a column wheel centralizing the timing actions, progressive contact hammers ensure zero reset with a gentle but firm triggering thanks to the vertical clutch of the chronometer components.
The watch also features a large double-window date calendar displaying the day, month, and year cycle, including leap and current years. This timepiece also features a day and night indication. The well-designed dial incorporates orbital moon phases, allowing for a precise reading of the moon's age.
This doubly certified watch truly combines the measurement of long and short time periods with fluid and clear visibility. To top it all off, Chopard has opted for an alligator strap with large, beautiful scales, hand-stitched, and a lining also in brown alligator but with small scales.

The new LUC Perpetual Chrono watch is water-resistant to 30 meters, has a 60-hour power reserve, and is equipped with a LUC 03. 10-L hand-wound movement. This noble jewel contains 42 jewels. The small seconds are displayed at 6 o'clock, the large date is located at 12 o'clock, while the days are positioned at 9 o'clock and the months at 3 o'clock. At 6 o'clock, we notice the moon phases, at 10 o'clock we have the day and night display, leaving the years at 2 o'clock. The hours, minutes, seconds, days, and months are indicated by dauphine hands. A rhodium-plated triangle with a white tip points to the day and night indication and the years.
