Ligne Roset: sitting in the future since 1973

In the heart of the 60s, Jean Roset observed a world in full transformation. Baby boomers dreamed of a new comfort, freer, more flexible. So, he imagined a seat that fit bodies and lifestyles: the foam armchair. A revolution in a company that had until then been an expert in woodworking. This brilliant intuition would give birth, in 1973, to a design icon: the TogoDesigned with Michel Ducaroy, this sculptural seat has sold more than 1,5 million copies. Togo, it is soft elegance, relaxed design, luxury that does not need to be rigid.

That same year, Ligne Roset became a brand in its own right. Jean Roset surrounded himself with his sons, Pierre and Michel, and transformed the company into an avant-garde factory. A founding intuition still guides the brand: anticipating societal changes to better support them. Ligne Roset doesn't just furnish interiors; it designs them as places for living, dreaming, and creating.

Today, the brand operates in over 70 countries, thanks to a dense and agile distribution network. It cultivates close collaborations with the greatest names in design—Jean Nouvel, Inga Sempé, the Bouroullec brothers—and continues to create signature furniture that stands the test of time without ever losing its modernity.

Origin: the bicycle as an extension of oneself

Birth of the bicycle Fraxion Origine x Ligne Roset

It's a meeting that surprises as much as it seduces. A collaboration at the crossroads of two worlds—design and cycling—driven by a shared vision: French excellence and the art of detail. Combining sophistication, innovation, and passion, Ligne Roset and Origine have created a unique project, deeply rooted in their time.

It all started with an almost fortuitous but eminently fruitful encounter. During a Ligne Roset photoshoot for the launch of the sofa Kashima, in the home of Yves Amiel — co-founder of Origine — the discussions between Antoine and Olivier Roset (general managers of Ligne Roset), Yves Amiel and Rémi Lefèvre (co-founders of Origine) gave birth to an idea. The desire to unite their talents, their worlds, their perspectives. Very quickly, the alchemy took effect.

From this creative collaboration, an ambitious project was born: to design a very limited-edition bicycle. A rare object, at the crossroads of art and performance. A piece that embodies both the refinement of Ligne Roset furniture and the technical excellence of Origine. More than a product, it's a style manifesto, an ode to customization and French expertise.

This collaboration, far from a simple stylistic exercise, is part of a shared desire to explore new territories. To imagine unique experiences, to unite a community of aesthetes, enthusiasts, and the curious. To create a bond between those who love to move, dream, and surround themselves with beauty, without ever compromising on quality or meaning.

Fraxion Origine x Ligne Roset is a limited-edition bike that perfectly embodies the DNA of both brands. A perfect fusion of performance and aesthetics, it comes in ten exclusive shades, directly inspired by the Pantone Ligne Roset palette.

Every detail has been carefully crafted: handlebar tapes and saddles covered in leather, refined stitching, seatpost and wheels subtly matched for total visual harmony. Much more than a simple bike, it's a statement of style. An exceptional object, on the border between design and movement, which reinvents the contours of French elegance.

This first collaboration forms a limited series of 10 bikes that will be exhibited and available for sale in a selection of iconic Ligne Roset stores around the world: Paris, New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Shanghai and Dubai…. a special, larger series is currently being developed. It will be available online on the Origine website, as well as in a selection of Ligne Roset showrooms in France and internationally.
