This new party venue, created by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, revives the relaxed and carefree evenings of the 60s and 70s that made the Côte d'Azur famous. With an idyllic waterfront setting, an open-air cabaret atmosphere, Mediterranean cuisine and Monaco specialties, a cocktail bar with retro creations designed by Giancarlo Mancino, and a soundtrack by "Belle Epoque," the label of the electronic group Bon Entendeur, Maona Monte-Carlo is the place to be for Monaco's new summer nights. With Maona Monte-Carlo and Club la Vigie opening in June, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is reinventing the art of partying this summer 2023 with the iconic Jimmy'z Monte-Carlo, COYA Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo Buddha Bar, and Monte Carlo Casino.

Maona Monte-Carlo celebrates the highlights of the principality's festival

Located on the bay of Monte-Carlo Beach, the Maona Monte-Carlo, almost in place of the club of the same name created in 1962, has just been reborn under the stars of the Riviera in its 2023 edition. The new festive address imagined by Monte Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, celebrates the dolce vita, the festivals and the culinary traditions of Monaco. Two fabulous decades of the Maona Monte-Carlo, the 60s and 70s, have revived their legend. This is evidenced by the personalities who have shaped the image of the Principality over these decades. If two of them named the first Maona – "Ma" like Maria Callas and "Ona" like Aristotle Onassis – many others have followed: Jerry Lewis, Joséphine Baker, Omar Sharif, Lisa Minnelli, Michael Caine, Yves Montand, Sheila, Charles Aznavour, Johnny Hallyday, Arthur Ashe. In July 2023, the legend is ready to rise once again!

To enhance the atmosphere of the most festive journey of yesterday and today from Monaco, between France and Italy, the musical identity has the signature "Belle Epoque", the label of the electronic group Good Listener Acclaimed for their remixes of French heritage songs, Maona Monte-Carlo offers a delightfully vintage acoustic soundtrack. Every night from 19 p.m. to 20 p.m., Belle Epoque by the French electronic music group Bon Entendeur gently opens the evening with French and Italian music from the sixties. From 20 p.m. to 2 a.m., the night gives way to the nightlife with a live piano session, soulful diva vocals, and an electro-disco DJ, to get moving in style if the mood strikes.

Between local cuisine and masterful mixology

Maona Monte-Carlo is a true culinary experience, showcasing an eclectic menu of flavors rooted in Monaco. Drawing on family recipes typical of the region, the Maona Monte-Carlo menu elevates local classics with sunny and hearty dishes. Barbajuans, stocafi, socca, and focaccia can be shared or served as antipasti in the lounge bar. The local cuisine draws inspiration from the Italian Riviera, with succulent lobster risotto, delicate pasta known only to Chef Vincenzo Giordano, and many other delicious dishes. Fish, fruits, and vegetables are sourced from the surrounding Monaco area and its hinterland.

As an aperitif or after-dinner drink, you can stop at Bar Sauvage to discover the creations of Giancarlo Mancino, a very renowned international bartender... cocktails version tap or classic, based on vintage Negroni and spirits made in Monaco in particular. A rare gem to be enjoyed under a pergola on a mild summer evening: the exceptional Negroni Monte-Carlo 1956 (the year of the wedding of HSH Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly), blending a London dry gin from the 1950s, a bitter gin from 1956 and an Italian Vermouth from the same year.

For a private Maona Monte Carlo experience, book the upstairs Tam-Tam Room, an ultra-private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Design inspired by the French Riviera of the 60s and 70s

Maona Monte-Carlo is designed by Laurent Maugoust, who conceived it as a summer lounge in a Mediterranean seaside villa, with colors and design inspired by the 60s and 70s. The interior designer commissioned original murals from Aurore de La Morinerie, an artist who also designs the menus, menus, and presentation plates. This venue pays homage to the historic Maona by highlighting its photographic heritage, creating an authentic and unique atmosphere.

Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, declared on this occasion: “ We are very proud to present Maona Monte-Carlo, the new brand that embodies the gastronomy and expertise, the historical and cultural heritage, and the festive DNA of our Group. I would like to thank all the teams who have worked together to bring this new and important address to Monaco's summer evenings. »
