Immersion on the Isle of Islay in Scotland with the Bruichladdich Distillery and its Treasures Whisky
It's on this wild Scottish island, bordered by the waves of the Atlantic, that a range of unique Single Malts is created, shaped by a unique environment. The Bruichladdich distillery, the first in Europe to receive the prestigious B Corp certification, is committed to producing high-quality whiskies while maintaining exemplary respect for the environment and society. A closer look at two iconic whiskies with extraordinary flavors.
BRUICHLADDICH 30 YEARS: A Renewed Heritage
The Bruichladdich 30 Year Old embodies the rebirth of the distillery, which closed in 1994 and reopened in 2001, when the last employees, having carefully preserved the aging whisky casks, brought this legend back to life. This refined Single Malt, aged in carefully selected Bourbon casks, reveals a floral palette subtly infused with the island's sea air. A tribute to Islay, where slow maturation and the oceanic climate combine to create a unique character.
Tasting Notes
– Nose: Sweet notes of oak, coconut, wild gorse flowers, with hints of vanilla and pear, enhanced by nuances of candied lemon and light spices. A floral bouquet evoking geranium and rose.
– Palate: The sweetness of toasted oak blends with aromas of light fruit, honey, and caramel, with a touch of leather. Floral notes intensify on the palate, balanced by a saline freshness brought by the American oak.
– Finish: A lively taste of sea salt tempered by warm oak, extended by sweet notes of vanilla and sweet coconut.

OCTOMORE 15.3: The Strength of Islay Barley
Distilled from 100% Islay-grown barley, on the Octomore farm located three kilometers from the distillery, Octomore 15.3 is a Single Malt with intense peat, revealing all the strength and complexity of the island. Aged in first-fill Bourbon casks and Oloroso casks from Jerez, Spain, this powerful and bold whisky expresses a subtle malt sweetness thanks to its local barley, enriched with the salty sea air of the Atlantic.
Tasting Notes
– Nose: Aromas of honey, smoky caramel, and Islay barley sugar, balanced by fresh citrus. The ever-present peat mingles with dried fruits and shellfish, with hints of clove, toasted nuts, and coconut.
– Palate: With a round, almost syrupy texture, Octomore 15.3 reveals notes of caramel and creamy vanilla. Dried fruits and orange zest add liveliness, while toasted oak and smoky peat provide a unique balance.
– Finish: The finish is marked by notes of burnt sugar, coconut and light sea spray, prolonged by an earthy peat smoke which invites you to dive back into this exceptional Single Malt.
