Dictador, the producer known for its premium spirits, has just launched a new collection of limited-edition rums. These two very high-quality Masters will be sold at La Maison du Whisky. To develop this project and bring these two prestigious drinks to fruition, Dictador has approached the world's leading producers of Cognac, Whisky, Champagne, Armagnac, Bordeaux, and Sauternes. The house's master rum maker, Herman Parra, aimed to create unique rums whose quality borders on perfection. And to make this two Masters program, which is also the first of its kind to have been concocted two years ago, possible, Herman Parra has partnered with some of the world's finest wine and spirit producers.
Dictador, the Colombian brand producing high-end products
Dictador is a leading player in the premium product market. The Colombian brand is modern and dynamic, and has built a reputation for the quality of its rum production. By focusing on ultra-premium rum, the brand has attracted enthusiasts and collectors. Moreover, it's not only renowned for its prestigious drinks. Enthusiasts refer to it as the "Dictador Experience," allowing customers to explore other products from the brand, such as Dominican cigars.
Dictador always strives for success, which is why he was keen to surround himself with the maestros of the spirits world to imagine and prepare a smooth bottle that will delight the taste buds of connoisseurs. Parra didn't choose these talented artisans at random. He hand-picked them and invited them to participate in the creation of this 2 Masters collection. It was a real pleasure for them to lead this initiative to add the finishing touch to some of the best Colombian Dictador rums, aged over 40 years.
Callum Fraser of Glenfarcias Whisky Distillery, for example, said: “We were delighted to work with a 45-year-old Dictador rum, made from a 1972 vintage cask… to create a truly exquisite spirit.”
Six collaborations for the 2 Masters collection
To launch the rums of this new 2 Masters line, six exclusive collaborations have been created. The Dictador brand has chosen to produce a limited number of bottles of each type. In fact, only 360 to 390 bottles of each type are made available worldwide. The 70 cl bottles are sold at a price between €379 and €925. And to get them, you must visit the Maison du Whisky in Paris or place an order through its online sales site.
It should be noted that La Maison du Whisky or LMDW is one of the largest specialists in France in the import and distribution of fine, prestigious and rare whiskies and spirits.
This new collection is aimed primarily at serious wine enthusiasts and collectors. The 2 Masters program includes the following wine and spirits houses:
- Glenfarcias Distillery: Callum Fraser, Master Distiller,
- Cognac Hardy with Mickaël Fraser, Cellar Master,
- Champagne Leclerc Briant with Hervé Jestin, Master Oenologist;
- Château d'Arche Sauternes with Cellar Master Jérôme Cosson,
- Despagne Vineyards with Thibault, the Master Winemaker and Visionary,
- and Laballe Armagnac with Cellar Master Cyril Laudet.
The Dictador brand's master rum maker said: "Allowing external Cellar Masters to complement the rums my family has cared for for decades is not just a sign of trust, but simply art. Choosing the right houses to participate in this initiative was extremely important, as there had to be a symbiotic relationship between the other artisans and me. They agreed to create a new version of our rum that is not just a liquid work, but a masterpiece."
According to him, the selection of these collaborators was essential for the creation of this collection. And this project was also a great opportunity for Para to meet other skilled and passionate artisans like himself, and to understand their experiences.
