On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Palais de la Porte Dorée is rallying behind Iranian women fighting for freedom today! The Palace is organizing an evening of support for Iranian women on Wednesday, March 8 at 18:30 p.m.
Following the installation of the Franco-Iranian artist Hanieh Delecroix " Woman, Life, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity » In tribute to Mahsa Amini, the Palace is offering a conference-screening evening to pay tribute to the fight of Iranian women for freedom.

Many Iranian women and artists in France openly support the Iranian women's struggle for freedom. Witnesses of repression, forced into exile, they are now speaking out to make the voice of resistance better heard.
The event will be hosted by Mariam Pirzadeh and will feature artist Hanieh Delecroix, choreographer Rana Gorgani, and singer Ariana Vafadari.
Hanieh Delecroix

Hanieh Delecroix, born in Tehran in 1974 and now based in Paris, has worked as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in a hospital setting, specializing in children and adolescents as well as adults with chronic illnesses. In her art, she depicts a dual culture, combining Persian lapis lazuli with French blue. It was love at first sight with Rose Issa, a key pioneer of the contemporary Arab and Iranian scene, allowing her to join numerous private and museum collections, such as those of the British Museum and lthra, King Abdulaziz Center for World Cultures.
Rana gorgani

A French-Iranian choreographer and one of the few female whirling dervishes, Rana Gorgani has elevated Sufi dance to the status of a spiritual art. While Sufism has nourished her thought and art, Rana Gorgani's power lies in taking this spirituality into completely unexpected realms. From the documentary The paths of the Sacred for the ARTE channel at the festival We dance at your place At the Théâtre National de Chaillot, Rana opened the doors to Sufism. Through her numerous artistic collaborations, each of her performances, and the knowledge and expertise she shares, this maestro is undoubtedly the greatest ambassador of Sufi spirituality in the West.
Ariana Vafadari

A French-Iranian singer trained at the Paris Conservatoire, Ariana Vafadari combines her oriental heritage with her passion for classical music. A mezzo-soprano with a deep timbre, but also a composer, she creates sonic epics between traditional music, classical music and jazz, where Zoroastrian wisdom poetically illuminates the issues of our time. Her supple mezzo-soprano voice, her musicality and her dramatic presence allow her to combine lyrical compositions: if she sings Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte of Mozart, she excels especially in the baroque repertoire where she flourishes.
She is Nero in The Coronation of Poppea, Proserpine in Orpheus ou Dido in Purcell. She also knows how to approach the contemporary repertoire and also enjoys immersing herself in the more intimate world of chamber music. She performs on stages such as the Lyon Opera, the Dijon Opera, the Toulon Opera, or gives concerts at the Salle Pleyel or the Luxembourg Opera.
In 2016, she composed and recorded the album Gathas, Songs My Father Taught Me, revelation of the Festival of Sacred Music of Fez and in 2020 the album Anahita. Thanks to collaborations with DJ Satori and DJ Chambord, she mixes her music with electronic music during the Burning Man and Exit festivals.
Screening of the film LE CERCLE de Jafar Panahi (2000) from 20AM to 22PM

Winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2000, LE CERCLE marked a turning point in Jafar Panahi's career and contributed to the launch of a new genre in Iranian cinema: women's films. It is a series of portraits illustrating the fate of six Iranian women, each confronting in their own way the discrimination and oppression imposed by society.
Solmaz Gholami is rejected by her family for giving birth to a girl instead of the expected boy. Mojgane, a young woman without papers, is forced to beg, while Arezou, Nargess, and Nayereh, who are on bail, try to escape the police's gaze. Meanwhile, Pari is disowned by her family because of her pregnancy.
