The artist Julien des Monstiers and his technique

Julien des Monstiers uses a unique technique to create his works: the transfer technique. He begins by painting his designs on a plexiglass plate. He then transfers the still-wet paint onto glassine paper, before transferring the design to the canvas using pressure. This method creates blurred images that recompose into an interlacing of patterns and colors. This unique technique gives his works unparalleled depth and texture.

Julien des Monstiers's art is marked by a strong presence of animal motifs. Inspired by hunting scenes and floral decorations, he creates paintings that resonate with the spirit of Chambord. Animals, whether real or fantastical, occupy a central place in his works. This theme creates a strong connection between the artist and the monument, evoking the tapestries and historic decorations of the château.
