Garorock 2025, the 29th edition

Let's dive into the heart of the 29th edition of garorock, from July 3 to 6, 2025 at the Plaine de la Filhole in Marmande. A festival that has become a true musical crossroads, where urban fabrics, vibrant electro and incisive rock blend together, in an atmosphere that pulses to the rhythm of discoveries and major comebacks.

Born in March 1997 in the former slaughterhouses of Marmande, Garorock was originally a punk-rock festival drawing on the raw energy of funk and ska. Its name, a playful contraction of "Garonne" and "Rock", also suggests "Beware of rock". Led by Ludovic Larbodie, passionate about music and local produce, the festival was initially a traveling event combining wine, Garonne and rock, before becoming an emblematic event.

Garorock @Mathis Poirault

At the dawn of the 2000s, his taste for daring led him to program not only local groups such as The Sheriffs ou The Wampas, but also true legends such as U-Roy and Public EnemyThe momentum has become exponential: in three decades, Garorock left the exhibition center to settle on the Plaine de la Filhole in 2012, taking on a new dimension with several stages, camping and an attendance peaking today at more than 100 festival-goers over four days. This mixture of rebellious spirit, stylistic openness, punk, electro, rap and local roots makes Garorock a major event in the French musical landscape.

Garorock 2025: impressions and atmosphere

Along the grassy paths, the air was saturated with excitement: a cosmopolitan audience, from Nouvelle-Aquitaine and beyond, leaping to the sound of the notes. The camps were full, testifying to an intact loyalty, and the scenography, between rock, electro and chill zones, offered an immersive palette conducive to musical exploration. From July 3 to 6, 2025, the Plaine de la Filhole was transformed into a molten musical cauldron.

Thursday, Gazo and Rilès kicked off the hostilities with an incisive rap, heating up an already dense crowd, while Afrojack and I Hate Models ratcheted up the tension with high-octane electro sets. Friday was a cosmopolitan slap: J Balvin unleashed the bodies with their reggaeton anthems, before The Black Keys brought everyone back to the essence of rock, with bluesy riffs and sweat to boot. The Last Dinner Party then delivered a performance as elegant as it was theatrical, worthy of its name. Saturday, it was time for excess: DJ Snake shook the field with devastating drops, followed by an imperial Damso. The digital reggae of Biga\*Ranx then colored the dub stage, before Nemzzz and Wallace Cleaver projected the crowd into a futuristic electro vortex.

Finally, on Sunday, the explosive closing took on the appearance of an apotheosis with the Black Eyed Peas, still as unifying as ever. Fisher, Meute and Landmvrks each carved out their own path, between house, techno fanfare and tense metalcore, before L'Entourloop and Hoshi added a more suave and urban finishing touch to this monumental edition.

Commitment & eco-responsible convictions

Garorock isn't just about being festive: a transparent carbon footprint, a decaffeination strategy (transport, logistics), more than 6,5 tons of local produce, and 80% vegetarian stands demonstrate a sincere commitment to eco-responsibility. The festival is thus fully in line with the green movement of major cultural events.

29 years after its creation, garorock continues to guarantee intense drama, harmonious contrasts and a solid ethic. Between a return to rock roots and an opening to the urban and electro scene, the 2025 edition brought everyone together: it is one of the rare French festivals capable of combining a general public and cutting-edge discovery, while maintaining a true environmental awareness.

This 2025 vintage of Garorock will be remembered for its blend of generations, its uncompromising energy, and its eco-responsible conscience. The shared memories will resonate long into the future... until the next edition.
