Emmanuelle Stolar, ceramist, sculptor and colorist from the Luberon, is one of the selections of Révélations, a biennial taking place at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris from June 7 to 11, 2023.
An exhibition that highlights excellence, avant-garde and eclecticism, and where this original artist finds her place.
Of Sand and Color
Sand, or the sensation that these earths leave under the hands with their very particular grains, is chosen by Emmanuelle Stolar to create her ceramic sculptures: primordial earths that must be caressed, and that we have the right to touch!
Sand is also the sand of the dunes, and the wind caresses these shifting mountains. The comparison is justified, as the earth magician brings to life works of astonishing dimensions, like this "Devil's Tree" in black sandstone, nearly 2 meters high, or with soft shapes as if polished by the Mistral of her adopted Provence.
Color is omnipresent in her work. These natural colors that we already know come from the Luberon terroir where she lives and works. And those that this disciple of Marc Uzan creates in her kiln (like her "Dark Dahlias" series) come from her work with the enamels she creates from fragments and rocks collected in nature. In her color chart, there are no pigments, only cobalt, iron, or manganese!
Emotions that emerge
Emmanuelle Stolar's creative studies are sensual, surprising and evocative of imaginary landscapes or feminine curves, celebrating multiple fertility and surprising harmony.
His poetic works ("Fly me to the moon", "Dans le vent des dunes", etc.) take us into worlds that are both intimate and dreamlike, where strength and gentleness, intensity and lightness blend together.
Far from conceptual exploration, his art draws inspiration from the impenetrable and ever-renewing dynamics of life. His pieces have meaning for everyone, evoke emotion, and resonate particularly with today's audience, who are eager to be freed from the years of crisis and constraint they have just experienced.
An atypical path
Literary and musical studies, a career in human resources, piano teaching, and then one day, falling in love with the art of fire during a mission for Baccarat. Emmanuelle Stolar didn't choose the straight path or the classic path of a visual arts student to assert herself, even though she has always practiced art professionally. 
His creative journey follows his life, his accidents, and his encounters, drawing on his family history and his Ashkenazi cultural heritage, as well as his contemporary favorites. A resolutely modern synthesis of art, an inspiring journey for all those who reject beaten paths and linear paths.
After successful exhibitions in 2022 at the Baccarat Museum and in the numerous galleries of the Luberon, Emmanuelle Stolar will now meet an international audience at the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs in Gordes (Easter 2023) and then at the next Révélations biennial at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris from June 7 to 11, 2023.

A guarantee of the requirement and quality of the works, revelations sets up an Artistic Orientation Committee every two years to select the creators for the exhibition. The committee is composed of 9 participants representing the entire field of contemporary creation such as creators, gallery owners, art school directors, prescribers (designers, architects, etc.) or collectors. It meets in three juries to study all the applications.
