Chopard and Mille Miglia, a legendary alliance

When the elegance of the chronograph meets the dust of the Italian roads, it is time, literally, to celebrate a partnership that has become iconic. For the 38th consecutive year, Chopard is illustrated as World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of Mille Miglia , the most legendary endurance race on the classic motor racing calendar. Save the date: June 17-21 for Brescia-Rome !

This intimate link between the Swiss watchmaking house and this mechanical adventure, often described by Enzo Ferrari of " most beautiful race in the world ", transcends simple patronage. It is a story of passion, precision, and emotion, between fine watchmaking and legendary racing...

The Mille Miglia: a legend born in 1927

Born in the excitement of the Roaring Twenties, the Mille Miglia (the Thousand Miles) was born in 1927, connecting Brescia to Rome in a loop of nearly 1600 kilometers. Originally intended to rival the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this event quickly became a showcase of Italian mechanical engineering, but also a stage where the greatest driving talents were expressed. Becoming a regularity race after 1957, it still retains a crazy charm today, bringing together more than 400 historic vehicles that all participated in the original event before 1957.

This link between Chopard and the Mille Miglia takes on a personal dimension with Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of the House. An enlightened amateur of classic cars, he will participate this year for the 37th time racing, driving the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing “metallic strawberry” of the Scheufele family. At his side, his faithful companion and Chopard Ambassador, Jacky Ickx, six times winner of the 24 Hours of Le MansAn alliance between watchmaking expertise and circuit legend.

Two exceptional timepieces at the heart of the race

At each edition, Chopard celebrates this passion for automobiles with emblematic watch creations. In 2025, two models will enrich the Mille Miglia collection :

From Brescia to Rome: an itinerary of emotions

This year again, participants will follow a loop route starting from Brescia, crossing Verona, San Marino, Livorno, Rome, then going back up through the passes of Tiring et Futa, for a triumphant return to Brescia. Each stage is a tribute to automotive heritage, to the beauty of the Italian landscapes, but also to the camaraderie and adrenaline of racing.

La Mille Miglia 2025, planned from 17 to 21 June, promises to be an exceptional edition of the famous Italian classic car race. For the third consecutive year, the event takes place on five days, following a figure eight loop inspired by the historic route from 1927 to 1938, with a route connecting Brescia to Rome and back. More than 400 vintage vehicles, all entered in the original race before 1957, will take the start in an atmosphere combining mechanical performance, timeless elegance and heritage passion. The 2025 route will stop at emblematic locations: after the start in Brescia, the crews will pass through Verona, Ferrara, then will face the famous passes of the Tiring and Futa before going down to Rome, where a prestigious arrival awaits them on the Via Veneto. The return will take them through Orvieto, San Marino, Livornoand finally, Piacenza, before closing the loop in Brescia via a spectacular urban finale.

The race is based on a demanding timing system, combining strict time controls (Time Controls), regularity tests with imposed averages (Average Trials), and precision tests to the hundredth of a second (Time Trials). This balance between controlled speed and regularity is what makes the Mille Miglia so special, reinforced by the presence of a prestigious official timekeeper: Chopard. Alongside the competition, the city of Brescia will live to the rhythm of automotive passion with the opening of the Mille Miglia village in Piazza Vittoria, exhibitions and cultural events such as " Bolidi and Dimore ", an exploration of local and automotive heritage. New for 2025: to encourage the next generation, reduced registration fees will be granted to crews under 30 years old. More than a race, the Mille Miglia is a living celebration of automotive history, an aesthetic journey through Italy, punctuated by the sound of vintage engines and the precision of Swiss chronographs.

More than a partner, Chopard is the watchmaking soul of the Mille Miglia. By combining mechanical tradition, refined aesthetics and a love of motorsport, the Swiss Maison perfectly embodies the dynamic elegance of this unique race. On the Piazza Vittoria in Brescia or in the paddocks, Chopard timepieces are not just measuring instruments: they are living witnesses to a passion that spans generations.

Chopard and the Mille Miglia, it's the story of a movement – in the noblest sense of the word. A movement that beats to the rhythm of classic engines, but also of high-precision watchmaking. An ode to time, to the road, and to timeless elegance.
